Under supervision, the Greens Keeper works on the diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance including but not limited to construction, irrigation, and fertilizing. Operates golf course equipment including mowing machines.
Principle Job Duties:
1. Operates powered equipment used in mowing greens and fairways as well as carts transporting personnel and equipment.
2. Waters/grades sods and seeded turf areas as directed.
3. May assist in application of herbicides and pesticides under supervision of the Superintendent.
4. Maintain ball washers, sand traps, cart paths, bridges, fences, and other golf course facilities.
5. Change cups and tee markers.
6. Assist in construction of new turf areas and golf course features as required.
7. Maintain trees, shrubs, flowers and other non turf areas.
Job Skills and requirements:
1. 1 to 2 years landscape or greens keeper experience
2. Ability to safely and efficiently operate trucks, carts, and mowers.
3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
4. Knowledge of the use and handling of fertilizers and pesticides desirable.
5. Familiar with hand tools and maintenance methods.
6. Able to work well in a team setting.
7. Current California Drivers License and clean DMV required.
