DRIVER POSITION... The delivery driver is primarily responsible for operating the company fleet of trucks (including but not limited to 26 ft. Box truck, cargo van, truck and trailer, etc.) which is used to haul various types of freight between shop locations, warehouses, job sites, etc. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: ⦁ Ensure equipment is maintained at a high level of efficiency and readiness. ⦁ Help forklift drivers safely load and unload truck and to secure loads on trailer using cables, straps, ropes, etc. ⦁ Maximize load capacity on trailer without sacrificing safety. Ensure equipment is properly secured when hauling. ⦁ Communicate with manager and others (such as shipping and receiving team members, other drivers, etc.) regarding sequencing of tasks and other instructions. ⦁ Clean and maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment ⦁ Perform other related duties as assigned. ⦁ Maintain orderly and accurate DOT electronic logs and comply with all DOT requirements for license and medical cards. ⦁ Accurately complete and turn in all transportation documents required for each pick-up and drop by the end of work day that the delivery was completed. JOB REQUIREMENTS: ⦁ Self-starter and team player able to work in the multidiscipline, high pressure and fast paced team. ⦁ Ability to effectively and professionally present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors and employees of the organization. ⦁ Demonstrates the ability to work well with others, and work independently when required. ⦁ Demonstrates clear communication skills including the ability to read, write and speak English fluently. As well as to promptly follow verbal and written directions in English along with the ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with all employees at different levels both in an office setting and in the field setting. ⦁ Ability to travel as needed. Willing and able to operate and maintain assigned equipment in a safe manner while working in all weather conditions during a possible 12+ hour work shift that can include days or nights, as well as weekends and holidays when required. ⦁ Must be able to lift and move items weighing 50 lbs. Or less. WORKING CONDITIONS: ⦁ This position will require the employee to drive for long periods of time (with minimal amounts of work outside of vehicle, only long enough to complete the actual pick-up/drop and get back on route) in all types of weather conditions typical of the area where freight is destined to be picked up/dropped, including dust humidity, sleet, snow, rain, mud, cold, heat, wind, and other inclement weather. MINIMUM QULIFICATIONS: ⦁ Have and maintain a valid drivers license (employee will be required to provide their own verifiable 3 year MVR report as well as proof of DOT medical card upon hire). Also, the employee must be and remain eligible to drive a company vehicle and meet the expectation of the company's vehicle program, policy and/or guidelines.
