This course will give you the jump start you’ve always wanted to take higher-quality portrait photographs using just a few simple but powerful lessons! During the first hour of the class we will go over portrait photography basics including composition and how to work with models both in the studio and outside. During this time we’ll discuss natural and artificial light, including using a bounce and a simple portrait light to help make your photos stand out. The last section of the class will involve us going over editing tips. I’ll be using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop as examples, but many editing programs work in a similar way. If you want to try out Adobe applications you can sign up for free trials before you come to class. We’ll always build in time for questions and conversation, and you’ll be able to share photos with the instructor after the class either on Rockbrook’s Facebook EDU page, or by sending photos for comments to our learning email.
