EAST HAVEN, CT — The to-do list at East Haven Public Works Department is likely a little longer than most spring cleaning lists. And bigger.
Since early March, Mayor Joe Carfora has been regularly posting images to Facebook by public works supervisor Charlie Coyle of workers busy cleaning, repairing, replacing, and generally fixing up the town.
So far, among many tasks, they've cleaned up Michael Street Park, cleared Tuttle Brook of debris, repaired broken pavement on Strong Street and others, and regraded fields, replaced bleacher boards and painted at Memorial Field dugouts.
One resident commented about the Tuttle Brook cleanup:
"My house is one of the houses in this pic! I was going to call today about cleaning my side of Tuttle Brook and lo and behold when I looked out my window, there they were! A remarkable coincidence! Thanks Town of East Haven!"

The sweeping started in the south end of town and is working its way north. It's expected all streets will have been swept by the end of May.
