Press release from the Caddo Parish: April 9, 2021   Caddo Parish, LA- Alex McConduit, children's book author and New Orleans native, has partnered with the Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department to host a virtual visit with children and families of Caddo Parish and surrounding areas. The virtual event will take place Saturday, April 15 at 6pm via Zoom. Registration is required.   The visit is in celebration of his newly published book Bloom: The Story of the World's First Flower which is complete with a brief description of the evolutionary history of flowering plants, educational diagrams and fun facts for flower fanatics everywhere! This book was written during the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020 when Alex had an idea and newfound free time and decided to bring his idea to life!   Alex is also founder of Big Boot Books, formed to publish McConduit's books as well as aid students in New Orleans publish their own as well. A superstar team of educators formed to create W.R.I.T.E,. a youth publishing program that transforms students into published authors.
