Description

ARVADA, CO — The city of Arvada and its contract infrastructure partner are set to begin phase two of the Ralston Road reconstruction project April 26, transportation officials said. The phase is expected to last 24 months. Work will begin at Yukon Street and progress westward to Garrison Street, the city said. Phase two, which will be funded through a voter-approved bond measure, will include pavement reconstruction, roadway widening, safety and drainage improvements, landscaping and the replacement of traffic signals, officials said. Curb ramps and sidewalks will be brought into Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. During construction, a single lane will be open at all times in both directions of Ralston Road, the city said. "Access to businesses and residences may be narrowed but will be maintained, as well as access to RTD bus stops," the city said in a news release. "Some lane and intersection closures of arterial roads may exist at certain times during the project with advisories and signage in place to alert motorists and pedestrians to the closures." Phase one of the project, which is nearly complete, included pavement, accessibility, roadway and aesthetic upgrades from Upham to Yukon streets. Arvadans are invited to an open house with the Ralston Road improvement project team at 6 p.m. April 15, the city said. The team will offer an overview of the second phase and a construction timeline. >> More information about the project can be found here.
