Description
PROVIDENCE, RI — New coronavirus vaccine appointments will open in Rhode Island Friday evening. About 1,000 of the 20,000 appointments will be for the new, regional site in Woonsocket, the Department of Health said.
Appointments can be scheduled using the state's vaccine scheduling portal, or by calling 844-930-1779 or 311.
Rhode Islanders who aren't yet eligible to make an appointment can sign up for the vaccine interest notification list on portal.ri.gov. The Department of Health will send weekly notifications by phone, email or text when they are eligible and when an appointment becomes available.
"We continue to vaccinate as many people as our vaccine allocation allows," Gov. Dan McKee said. "Our increased capacity to get shots in arms puts us on track to meet the President's recommendation that all adults are eligible for vaccination by April 19."
