BeachLife Festival Plans Its Return For Fall

REDONDO BEACH, CA — BeachLife Festival is planning its return for 2021, organizers announced Friday. The coastal music event at Redondo Beach's Waterfront is slated for Sept. 10-12 and a limited run of tickets go on sale April 12. "BeachLife Festival was created to celebrate the Southern California beach lifestyle, where live music is synonymous with sunshine and toes in the sand," organizers said. As reopenings begin in Los Angeles County, festival organizers are now beginning the planning process. "With cautious optimism, and eyes wide open, we have begun the massive process of rebuilding BeachLife — both because we are ready to get back to work, and because we feel strongly that live music & togetherness is essential to the recovery of our Community," Festival Managing Partner Allen Sanford said in a statement. "As the marquee festival in Los Angeles, BeachLife Festival aims to be a catalyst towards actively contributing to the recovery of our great city." The 2021 lineup hasn't been announced yet, but expect to hear artists synonymous with the SoCal beach experience. Iconic past headliners and performers included Brian Wilson, Bob Weir, Willie Nelson, Ziggy Marley, Violent Femmes, Steel Pulse and Slightly Stoopid. The event will feature music, along with great local eats and other pop-ups. In 2020, BeachLife was on pace to an early sellout, with headliners Counting Crows and Steve Miller Band leading the billing — until the pandemic hit and forced the event to pause. Co-Founder Rob Lissner is ready to get back to planning again and expects it will be "the best recipe for a good time they've ever put together." The City of Redondo Beach has been supportive of the Festival, ready to host the event again. "So happy to see that BeachLife will be part of our new normal," Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand said. "If you love live music and a good time, this will be the place to be!" Organizers are planning carefully with safety and health as the top priority. The group will work with Beach Cities Health District to follow guidelines from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to ensure COVID-19 guidelines and standards are implemented at the festival so people can have a good time in a safe and healthy environment. "As our community prepares to reopen, BCHD's goal is to be a local health resource and support the health and safety of our community," Tom Bakaly, CEO of BCHD, said in a statement. "We are committed to supporting the BeachLife Festival and collaborating with cities and chambers of commerce through the reopening process and recovery."
