Newport County Great Flamingo Hunt Participants sign up and get a family code and receive instructions and a Where's Wingo Map.Using map, participants search for flamingos and scan the QR codes, gaining a new entry with each flamingo scanned.Grand raffle winners will announced on May 26thEvent to support the Grandfamily Support Initiative- offering grandfamilies in Newport County, a series of free clinician facilitated educational discussion group sessions combined with social support services. The 12-month intervention is a collaboration between the Strategic Prevention Partnerships (SPP), Newport County Prevention Coalition (NCPC), and Child and Family of Rhode Island. During each discussion group session, information and resources are provided. The sessions currently are held virtually with plans of moving into churches, community centers, libraries, schools, and other venues convenient to participants. Sessions are facilitated by a licensed clinician and local experts serve as guest speakers and present information on specialized topics such as legal issues, household budgets, public school programs and policies, addiction, and childhood trauma.
