Derry Man, Accused Of Shooting His Wife Before House Burned, Dies

CONCORD, NH — A man who would have been brought up on a murder charge, accused of shooting his wife, when released from a Boston hospital due to burns he received in a fire, has died. Manoel Viana, 57, died on Thursday, according to Kate Giaquinto, the director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, due to injuries he received on Sunday on Mt. Pleasant Street in Derry, after his house caught on fire. His cause of death is pending after an autopsy on Friday. The death of his estranged wife, Lynn Marie Viana, 53, who was shot and killed before the house caught on fire, is still being investigated by officials.
