Description
LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles police will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers this weekend with a series DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols.
With bars open and restaurants reopened and more people on the roads again, police are warning of the increased dangers of drunken drivers on the road.
According to the LAPD, checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests. During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.
"The safety of our community is and always will be our mission," Commander Woodyard, Commanding Officer, Traffic Group, said. "We are still out there looking for impaired drivers because driving under the influence is still dangerous."
