Press release from College of Lake County: Apr 09, 2021 engineering transfer department April 12 at 7 p.m. "With the average four-year public university tuition at $15,000-20,000 per year, plus room and board of $10,000-12,000, engineering students can save about $25,000 per year by starting at CLC," said professor Rob Twardock, engineering transfer department chair. "We offer small classes taught by professors who are professional engineers." The first two years of any engineering curriculum is common, allowing pre-engineering majors to start at CLC and transfer to any engineering field. The 30-minute sessions will include information about the curriculum and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC) Engineering Pathways program.  This program offers guaranteed admission after successfully completing two years at CLC.  For students interested in transferring from CLC to UIUC engineering, April 15 is the deadline to apply the pathways program. Guaranteed admission agreements with University of Illinois-Chicago and Northern Illinois University will also be explained, along with other transfer opportunities. Each session includes a virtual tour of the Baxter Innovation Lab, information on the National Science Foundation Scholarship program, engineering club, academic support services and more.
