PRESENTER: Irem Yoruk, Ph.D. Candidate & Lecturer, Wayne State University
Irem is a Ph.D. candidate at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan. Her area of academic work is focused on consumer interactions with local brands and global brands.
Prior to starting her doctoral journey, she worked at Shell, The World Bank, Endeavor Uruguay, and several start-ups. She holds a Masters degree in Marketing from Sabanci University, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Wellesley College.
SYNOPSIS:
Irem will discuss why consumers buy local and global brands and what individuals expect from local and global firms. Understanding the drivers of consumers’ purchase decisions and their expectations, she will shed light into and provoke some questions about who is more prone to preferring local and global brands.

The AMA Detroit Marketing Research SIG was developed to support and enrich the marketing research professionals' development and networking in the Detroit region. If you come in the main door of the Buell building, you are on the correct floor. Go to the left, down the hallway, and make another left at the Office of the Dean. The room will be on your left side, right above the atrium.
