Barrier is hiring for Door Technicians to perform inspections, repairs and installations of commercial fire/smoke doors, frames, and hardware within existing hospitals in and around the Columbus, OH metro area. Complete our quick online application: Essential Functions/Responsibilities Install/Repair/Inspect fire door frames, doors, locksets, exit devices, closers, and related hardware to ensure proper operation and compliance with life safety codes and regulations Carpenters work in active hospitals and administer proper infection control measures per hospital requirements Installations done in a professional manner with high attention to detail ready for approval/inspection Read/understand construction drawings to locate and identify scope of work Use of smartphones for reporting daily progress to Project Manager and/or Facility Manager Assist with other scopes as needed Requirements Skills and Experience 3+ years of finish carpentry experience Commercial door/hardware installation and/or repair experience preferred Flexible with schedule changes - some evening, night or weekend shifts based on client requests Must have reliable, personal vehicle to/from work Must be willing to submit to TB test, vaccination blood tests, & vaccinations (MMR, Flu, Varicella, etc.) when required by the client Professional appearance.
