Original post keeps getting flagged. My name is Jess. I volunteer at a sanctuary for exotic birds in Lancaster, PA. Called feathered sanctuary. We adopt out birds and also take them in. I travel to surrounding states to pick up rescues that are too far away for clients to drive. Lancaster, PA is about 2 hours from Glenburnie, Maryland. If you have a bird of any kind that is in need of help or you just can't care for it anymore please give us a call! I can explain all of our procedures for adopting out birds etc. We are not your usual adoption sanctuary and have different procedures. We also vet all of our birds before they are adopted out. We even make a home visit to potential adoptees. We currently take appointments at our business location if we aren't too far for you to travel too. Our address is 237Centreville road. LANCASTER, PA. I again volunteer there and pick up Any rescues or surrendered birds in surrounding states. I come to you. We also provide cages, food, toys and everything else a bird needs if you don't have it. We don't ask any questions other then if you have any previous vet paperwork or hatchling paperwork etc we would like to have it for future adoptee of the bird. We currently house macaws of all kinds, African Grey's, cockatoos, Amazon's, parakeets, parrotlets, etc. We are located inside of the all about fish store but, not affiliated with them. We are licensed and we are non-profit! Not to mention all our adoptable birds come with their cage, some food, toys, bowls, etc including vet paperwork and any other paperwork we have with them for a very reasonable fee. We are not breeders, and we do not buy and rehome birds. We are here to help birds in need, take them in, give them a great place to stay until they are adopted out and give them great vet care. All birds are seen by our vet before being adopted out and receieve all avian shots as well as, wing clipping, beak trimming if needed and nail clipping if needed all paid for by us! You are always welcome to make an appointment and travel to our location to check it out and surrender a bird or rescue yourself. I just help those who really can't travel the 2 hours or more to our sanctuary but, want to save a bird or surrender it.
