Power Systems Plus is seeking a seeking a highly motivated individual for a Shop Technician position. This position requires experience with or knowledge of mechanical systems. PSP has been in the generator service business since 1999. We have an established customer base, and our business is growing. We need a person to handle preparing trucks for technician’s jobs, organizing, and assisting with parts inventory, general mechanical and maintenance of vehicle and equipment. Position requires a logical, hardworking individual to work in our shop or in the field as necessary to support customer needs. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED • Demonstrate knowledge of engines with the ability to trouble shoot and repair. • Ability to use Microsoft office. REQUIRED • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record to operate company vehicles. • Must be able to read, write and speak English and have good communication skills. Other languages a plus. • Must be organized and able to take direction and work independently. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: • Parts - unpack, sort, label for jobs or inventory • Prep for jobs – Fill oil, coolant, parts ready, cable ready, load into truck etc. • Cleanup after jobs – empty truck, dump oil, clean out bins. • Parts Inventory – every week complete inventory check. • Fluid Inventory – every week complete checklist. • Service trucks – as needed, oil, fuel, check tire pressure, wash, etc. • Generators – clean and prepare used gens as needed • Shop and tools upkeep – Put away, organize tools, clean up areas, sweep shop floor as needed (weekly), clean up outside of shop: knocking weeds back, take out trash and recycling weekly. Other duties as assigned. • Trailer/Generator maintenance – Test rental units. Test trailer lights work, tire pressure, clean, bearings greased. • Run errands – parts and supplies pick up, other. • Other functions –fabrication, forklift operation, construction, etc. SALARY: $12.75 – $18.00hr based on experience.
