Millsite Landscape Services is hiring a full-time year-round Manager to oversee our equipment, shop and turf maintenance in the 270-acre Old Mill District. Job Duties/Pre-Requisites: • Interest in the “green industry” with a desire to pursue continuing education. • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff. • Experience and education sufficient to provide knowledge of correct turf grass care to include operation of riding and walking mowers as well as proper techniques for hard and soft edging, appropriate equipment maintenance, weed control, turf aeration, fertilization, turf renovation and spreader calibration. • Crew supervision, scheduling and direction to keep things running efficiently. Provide and document employee training. • Review budget vs. actual hours to make sure accounts are tracking appropriately. • Minimum requirement of obtaining a directly supervised pesticide trainee license within 3 months of employment and a commercial herbicide applicator license within a year to perform turf broadleaf control, crack weed control and shrub bed applications following IPM guidelines. • Perform minor irrigation repairs along with programming irrigation timers depending upon the season, plant material type and location. • Manage all Millsite equipment creating a comprehensive maintenance program along with continually updating records. • Organize our maintenance shop, purchasing and stocking necessary supplies for the crew i.e. safety supplies, PPE, landscape supplies etc. • Maintain and repair our equipment and trucks internally working on what we are capable of as well as balancing available time that changes depending upon the season and the dynamic variety of work that the position entails. • Previous knowledge of small engine repair desired but not necessary to be awarded the position. • Schedule and coordinate with vendors to maintain our fleet of 27 trucks along with our landscape maintenance and construction equipment. • Coordinate with other entities and departments to accommodate events that are held in the Old Mill District. • Participate in pruning during the winter months along with winter deicing and snow removal for contracted buildings and other accounts. Ability to operate a plow truck is preferred. • Valid ODL with a good driving record. • Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm (40 hrs. per week year-round) • Company truck provided for work use and commuting to and from work to allow for emergency response and efficient work procedures. • Benefits: Health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation, 401K, life and disability insurance, flexible spending plan, profit sharing plan, company sponsored events.
