Description
A part-time night patrol specialist (about 12 hours/week), flexible hours after dark.
Drives own automobile over specified geographic areas to locate and report sign and lighting outages and sign service issues by performing the following duties:
• Follows assigned patrol routes via a mobile app, thoroughly checking all waypoints on the route and other locations for sign and lighting outages and service opportunities
• Maintains constant surveillance from vehicle to identify additional sign and lighting outages and sign service issues
• Utilizes the mobile app to document outages by taking pictures and recording other details such as problem reported, sign/lighting elevations, customer name, address.
• Estimates size and characteristics of outage or service issue, and reports findings to supervisor
TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have a state issued driver's license in good standing; must have own vehicle and smartphone; less than high school education; or up to one month related construction or sign project experience or training; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to enter data on a mobile app
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate in person
• Ability to see from a distance
