Hiring for: Cremator/Driver General Summary: Oahu Pet Crematory (OPC) is seeking a responsible, hardworking individual as a cremator and driver. Our company is a large pet crematory on the island of Oahu with a long-standing relationship with veterinarians, shelters, and the public. This individual will be responsible for operating cremation units, driving to various locations across the island to pick up and drop off remains, as well as prepare remains for delivery to customers. While cremating pets is an unconventional job, it offers opportunities for those that are interested in learning a new trade and enjoy working independently. Providing Oahu’s pet families with closure in their time of need is our calling. If you enjoy helping others and have a can-do attitude, we can provide training in the growing industry of pet cremation. Knowledge, skill, and experience for this position • Able to learn new trades and polices as they evolve • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record • Ability to use basic computer programs or to learn to use programs to perform job duties. • All aspects of this cremation position can be trained Essential job duties include but are not limited to: • Time managing to work efficiently throughout the day. • Driving routes across Oahu (mostly to veterinary hospitals) to pick up and drop off pet remains. • Must be punctual and maintain regular, predictable attendance. • Must be willing to perform manual labor in an industrial setting • Ability to handle deceased pets and their remains The business operates Monday-Saturday and scheduled shifts vary from 7 am to 7 pm depending on the workload. Position available – full time Wage – $19/hr Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $19.00 per hour COVID-19 considerations: All customers are required to wear a mask for curbside drop off and pick up, common surfaces are sanitized regularly. This is a full time position. Evenings and weekends are required. For longer days breaks are given. Must be flexible, short term notice for coverage may be necessary. Day to day work varies according to the amount of save and communal cremations needed to be done.
