YOU CAN ALSO FIND HIM ON ADOPT-A-PET. So I am serious about finding him a GOOD home. To the person who flagged this post before-I have to move into an apartment since I am losing my house & yard. It is not fair to a dog like him to be cooped up in an apartment Blitzen is now 11 1/2 months weighs 65 lbs and stands 28" at the shoulders. He is a smart, clever and goofy friend that loves belly rubs and can be a mush He loves a good Rawhide to chew on and a game of Tug-o-war. He is housebroken and knows his name and: Sit-Stay-Leave it-Down-Give me paw-Other Paw-Sit pretty-Walk & Out (as a question & command) His mix of breeds makes for a high energy but trainable dog who needs a lot of intellectual stimulation and playtime. This is NOT an apartment dog. He needs doggy buddies and humans that are active. He is very affectionate and will jump up to your face and lick - lick-lick. He will sit and stay when it is feeding time and will sleep in his own bed all night. He does NOT dig though the trash bin in the kitchen and he rarely counter surfs -so he has some good manners He has STRONG herding instincts because he is 50% Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle dog) as well as treeing/running to ground. He is not socialized with other dogs yet - though he wants to be their friend. He aggressively chases cats, squirrels and anything small (mouse, rat, racoon, possum). This includes birds Because of his jumping and herding he is NOT good in a home with small children or frail older folks - he can potentially knock them down. He will come with ALL of his medical records including the Chip paperwork, leashes, harness, collar, his doggie beds, his toys, treats and whatever food I have left.
