Maintenance/Church Sexton - part-time (12-15 hours) - Salary is negotiable Job Purpose: The Sexton/Maintenance person is responsible for light cleaning and maintenance of the interior of the building and event support as needed. Job Duties include but not limited to: - Maintain cleanliness of interior of the building on a daily basis in support of the cleaning service. Includes: mopping the kitchen floor every evening, picking up any trash on the floors, set up and clean up Chapel for and after Sunday service. - Ensure that all entryways are clear of debris/litter. Keep leaves, sand and dirt away from entryways. Salt walks and ramp when needed in inclement weather. - Mowing lawn in front of church and keeping grounds in order, i.e. raking, etc. - Remove trash, recycling and compost daily. - Keep a record of maintenance supplies (30 day supply), let office know when to reorder. - Daily ensure that all restrooms are clean and paper towel and toilet paper holders are filled. - Arrange chairs in the Chapel for the choir every Wednesday night before their practice on Thursday (and other days/evenings as needed). - Set up and take down of tables and chairs for events & ensure all floors are swept clean and that the room is set for the next event or coffee hour following Sunday service. Also responsible for set up and break down for weddings and funerals in the Sanctuary. - Water interior plants as needed. Remove all dead flowers from Sanctuary as needed. - Help with holiday decorations. - Make sure all tools are in good working order. Keep a maintenance schedule and replace filters and have tools maintained as needed. Required Qualifications: 1+ years experience in a similar position. Able to stand and conduct physical work for up to 4 hours. Able to work on a ladder. Able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
