If the job description described here sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. *************** Currently, we are seeking team members who can be available for approximately 24 hours per week of work. Please note that we are not seeking people who only need temporary employment. Our goal is to develop the skills and leadership potential of our staff so they can be long-term members of our team. About our schedule... we operate 24-7-365 and are busy every day of the week, especially holidays, so you must be willing to work holidays as well as weekends when necessary. Applicants must be able to show evidence of being available, punctual, dependable, and energetic for their required shifts. To be successful at The Canine Connection, you must not only love dogs, but love creating a sparkling, clean environment. You must also have excellent customer service skills and be a cheerful, upbeat team player. *************** Description of Position and Responsibilities : Working under the direction of the Manager, the individual is responsible for supervision and care of multiple dogs in key areas; overseeing play, breaks, feeding, bathing, and the highest level of overall care for our canine guests. In addition, and equally importantly, the individual is also responsible for helping to maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized facility and positively interacting with clients and fellow team members. Qualifications : The position requires someone with a positive attitude, who is reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. You must have a strong work ethic, great communication skills, and be a positive team player. Your previous work and volunteer experience should demonstrate your success in being entrusted with important functions of an organization. This is a fun job but it requires a very high level of mental alertness as well as physical agility and strength. We place great emphasis on safety, along with fun, therefore, it is important that you have a keen ability to read dog body language and are able to respond proactively to it. Besides working with dogs, a least half of your duties will involve heavy cleaning (it goes with hosting many dogs and is a continual part of the job). For some shifts, there is more emphasis on cleaning than in other shifts. Our ideal candidate will have experience handling dogs in a veterinary, daycare, boarding, or shelter / rescue settings, will have experience with cleaning and maintaining a sparkling, sanitized environment, and will be ready to embrace our philosophy of positive reinforcement, stress-free handling, and fun! Requirements : First and foremost, you must love dogs and be comfortable around dogs of all sizes and breeds. This job requires being on your feet for 5 - 6 hours, moving quickly and being highly alert. You must be able to lift 60 pounds. You must have a demonstrated ability to work well as team member, handle multi-tasking with ease, and interact cheerfully and professionally with clients. You must be able to take and respond to feedback. You must be at least 18 years old with a prior work history that demonstrates initiative, maturity, and a positive team spirit. A valid California driver's license and reliable automobile transportation of your own to/from work is a requirement of the job. We are a covid-responsible organization, following all CDC guidelines, and require compliance with these. Wage : Starting wage is $13 per hour, to increase after probationary period. Pay range for Dog Care Team Member (Level 1) positions range from $13 to $15 per hour with increases based on performance over time. INTERESTED IN APPLYING?
