Description
May the Fourth Be With You this GiveNOLA Day with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans! Celebrate GiveNOLA Day IN-PERSON with your friends from JNOLA and JNEXT, two programs of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans. Join us at Zony Mash Beer Project (3943 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd) on Tuesday, May 4 anytime between 6-8 p.m.! Enjoy your first drink on us as you listen to live music from Big in the 90s. Covid guidelines will be observed! May the 4th [be with you] is a sacred day for Star Wars fans, so we invite you to dress up as a member of the Rebellion or the Empire! Make your gift, whether it's $10 or $100 (we're grateful for it all!) under their banner to see who will win the galaxy during our Vader vs. Skywalker Power Hour when each gift is matched up to $1,000. You'll receive another drink on us when you give any amount to the Federation through the GiveNOLA website: https://www.givenola.org/jeworleans. To comply with Covid guidelines on capacity, we ask that everyone who wishes to attend this free event please register here. Donations will go towards Federation programs like our Hospital Meal Delivery Program, where we recruited volunteers to deliver 6,600 meals from Jewish-owned restaurants to hospital workers at the height of the pandemic, or Nourish, where we provide meals and items needed to the under-served people of New Orleans. Your generosity will support the work done through our Goldring Center for Multi-cultural Affairs, where we celebrate diversity and camaraderie with local Hispanic and African American organizations through education, and with Jewish Pride New Orleans (JP Nola), where we've created a space for the queer members of our New Orleans Jewish community. The Federation does all this and more so that the dollars you give have a big impact, which you can read about at jewishnola.com. JNOLA serves Jewish community members between the ages 21-39 and JNEXT serves Jewish community members between the ages 40-59. JNOLA is generously sponsored by the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust.
