Join Casey Trees staff for an easy paced tree identification walk in Congressional Cemetery. Make use of the Casey Trees species guide to learn key characteristics of tree species to tell them apart. We will also discuss the benefits that these trees provide to this special place and our urban forest.
What to expect: An easy walk through young and mature trees, stopping to view and discuss different tree characters for species identification. We will have species guides to use. No experience necessary.
Come Prepared: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for an easy 1.5 hour walk around the grounds. Feel free to bring a small notebook.
Getting There- The tree walk is accessible by bus, metro, street parking and bike.
Public Transit: The closest metro stations are Potomac Ave. or Stadium Armory. Bus routes are along the B2 and 96.
Parking: There is two hour street parking.
Bikes: Bikes can be locked to nearby bike racks.
Where to Meet: Look for the Casey Trees staff in the orange vest at the entrance gate on 18th and E St. SE
