Description

Skills must be proven and will be tested right from the start. · Troubleshoots, adjusts and makes minor repairs on equipment as needed and assists in major repairs. · Meets and communicates well with coworkers, contractors, drivers and other customers. · Must work well with coworkers and management. · Must work safely. · Maintains work area in a clean, safe, orderly manner in compliance with company and governmental standards. · Assists in training new or less experienced department employees. · Maintains proficiency in operation of all electronic shipping and distribution platforms and their maintenance. · Performs additional duties as required by management. · Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assure that environment, health and safety are the first priority of the business. · Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results. · Ensure safe practices (including coworkers, employees and contractors) in all areas of his/her work. · Report on accidents / incidents assuring follow-up as per the Seattle Facility procedure. · Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. · Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electric components. · Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance. · Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors. · Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems. · Conduct preventive maintenance program, inspections (first and second level) of all plant equipment, keep maintenance records and generate reports. The electrician will also be part of the Thermography program. · Coordinates with assigned Foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently. · Maintain communications with coworkers.
