SALEM, MA — A Wakefield middle school principal is coming to Salem as the district's new Executive Director of Student Services and Family Supports.
Adam Colantuoni will join Salem Public Schools on July 1.
A one-time peer mediation coordinator at Lynn Tech and former guidance counselor, Colantuoni has been involved in school administration for the past 12 years. He is currently the principal of the 1,100-student Galvin Middle School in Wakefield, a position he's held for the past eight years.
The district said: "In each of the schools that he has worked in, Adam has been able to make an immediate impact by focusing on student-centered culture, strong relationship, and student growth and achievement.
"As a school administrator, he has maintained a consistent focus on social, emotional, and academic learning while promoting an inclusive learning environment for all students and staff."
Colantuoni earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology at Merrimack College and a master's degree in school counseling at Lesley University.
Mr. Colantuoni holds a B.A. in Psychology from Merrimack College and an M.A. in School Counseling from Lesley University. We look forward to the impact Mr. Colantuoni will make in our district.
