BELLEVUE, WA — Two community staples are reopening to visitors in Bellevue this month, operating under the third phase of the Healthy Washington plan. First up is the indoor skate park on Bel-Red Road, slated to reopen Thursday afternoon, followed by the North Bellevue Community Center, scheduled to reopen Monday morning. Initially, the skate park will be open for one 90-minute session on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Visitors will need to preregister for a spot, and can do so online using the keyword "skate." Open skate sessions will be limited to 15 people. Skaters will need to wear a mask and keep at least 6 feet of distance from those who do not live in their immediate household. Younger skaters can be accompanied by one spectator. Helmets are required and other safety gear is recommended, but rentals are unavailable for the time being. Skate gear is available for purchase at the pro shop. The North Bellevue Community Center, on 148th Avenue Northeast, will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m to 6 p.m., beginning April 12. Preregistration is required and returning indoor activities include "Silver Sneakers," the gym, billiards, ping pong, pickleball and line dancing. Registration is available online or by calling 425-452-7681. A complete list of activities is posted on the community center's website. The community center previously reopened its outdoor playgrounds, sports courts and skate parks. Residents can find the latest information on all city park facilities on the Bellevue website.
