PERRY HALL, MD — A lottery player who bought a Mega Millions ticket in Perry Hall matched five winning numbers, meaning a $1 million prize awaits.
The winning ticket was for the drawing Tuesday, April 6, and lottery officials said the prize had not yet been claimed as of Thursday afternoon.
It was purchased at the Giant at 8905 Belair Road, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The winning numbers from the April 6 drawing were 1, 19, 20, 32 and 42. The Mega Ball number was 17.
This was the second Mega Millions drawing in a row that resulted in a $1 million winner in Maryland; a player in Chestertown also matched five numbers but missed the jackpot by one for the April 2 drawing, officials reported.
The Perry Hall ticket was the third $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket sold in Maryland this year, lottery officials said, noting the other was sold in Westminster for the Jan. 22 drawing.
For selling the winning ticket, the Belair Road Giant in Perry Hall will get a $2,500 bonus, officials reported.
Officials said the player in Perry Hall was the only person in the country to match five numbers in Tuesday's drawing, snagging the million-dollar prize.
Because nobody matched all the numbers for the Mega Millions drawing Tuesday, the jackpot goes up to $201 million for the drawing Friday, April 9.
