SUMMIT, NJ — Starting this week and continuing for approximately four weeks, parking on Summit Avenue between Euclid Avenue and Springfield Avenue will be intermittently prohibited, the city said Monday. In addition, there will be street closures near Summit Avenue and Deforest Avenue.
According to a graphic from the city:
Work on Summit Avenue between Euclid Avenue and Parmley Place started on Monday and will continue for approximately 10 days.Work further south on Summit Avenue will start on or around April 15 and continue for five days.Work between Parmley Place and Deforest Avenue on Summit Avenue will start around April 22 and continue for approximately 10 days. Residents will get further notification when areas will be closed, the city said.
"JCP&L is in the process of upgrading circuits in the area to improve infrastructure resiliency," the city said. "A full street closure will be necessary to complete work on Summit Avenue at the intersection of Deforest Avenue; further notification will be provided. Access for emergency vehicles will be provided at all times."
Inclement weather will impact the duration of the project and the daily schedule.
