Press release from the City and County of Broomfield: April 8, 2021 Taking a regional approach with other local metro-area counties, Broomfield has issued a local Public Health Order requiring the continued use of face coverings for indoor public spaces, effective April 8 at 8 a.m. through May 7, 2021, unless extended. It's required to wear a face covering:  If you are ten years of age or older and in indoor public space NOTE: City and County of Broomfield public facilities require masks for ages four and older It's recommended, but not required, to wear a face covering when: You are outdoors and not able to maintain six feet of distance from a non-household member  The face covering order requires that individuals older than ten years old wear a face covering over their nose and mouth when entering or within any public indoor space. Exemptions in the order include: Persons whose health would be impaired by wearing a face covering. In any Public Indoor Space when any person is alone in such space (a single, fully enclosed room), when others outside of that person's household are not present, or the public does not regularly visit the room. Persons undergoing procedures that require access to the person's mouth or nose. Persons in restaurants that are permitted to serve food for consumption on the premises, while such person is in the act of eating or drinking. Persons in a Public Indoor Space who are requested to remove or lower their face covering for purposes of verifying their identity to carry out a sale or transaction. Persons who are officiating or participating in a life rite or religious service. Persons who are giving a speech for broadcast or an audience. Face coverings are a proven prevention measure to control the spread of COVID-19. While we work towards widespread vaccination, the community must continue to take preventative measures to protect those who are not yet vaccinated, including youth under 16 who cannot yet receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
