C & S Blacktopping, Inc is looking for an EQUIPMENT OPERATOR to join our team. An equipment operator must be able to operate equipment of various sizes and weights, in a safe and efficient manner. We are a residential and commercial paving contractor based out of the north metro. Paver Operator: Must be able to operate a paver Set-up paver before every project Must be able to direct truck driver, enter paver smoothly, raise/lower box, and exit paver when empty. Observe material being dumped into hopper for segregation and proper consistency Observe distribution of paving material along screed and control the direction of the screed to eliminate voids Manipulates cranks to control the depth of the paving machine that spreads and levels asphalt Monitor and perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Consistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency Additional duties as assigned by management Roller Operator: Must be able to operate a roller Set-up roller before every project Distribute, break down, compress, and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt Consistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency Additional duties as assigned by management Skid Loader Operator: Operate all controls and functions of the skid loader in a safe manner. Be able to operate equipment efficiently Ability to fine grade subgrade and aggregate base. Consistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency Additional duties as assigned by management Qualifications and Skills: Successfully pass a D.O.T. physical, pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements, i.e., CDL, Class A, Class B and/or Class C Strong time management/organizational skills Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or Leads with other duties as required Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction and asphalt paving To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily Wage range based on experience.
