Open to children 1st - 12th grade "You have a destiny!" The purpose behind this phrase, is to remind everyone that they are unique and that God has awesome plans for their lives. Coach Rex Tonkins and his team have spoken this message to young people for over two decades. Every individual has a choice to either follow God’s will and plan -- or choose to follow their own path and desire. Isaiah 46:10 is the very verse that The Destiny Project was built upon. This verse clearly says that God knows the future and knows what path we should follow. When we follow God’s ways and His will, we will leave a lasting impact. God’s plan for our lives stands the test of time. This is why we should endeavor to uncover the richness found in God's Word and seek His face continually to unearth the amazing plan that God has for our lives. Our first Destiny Basketball Camp at New Hope was in 2019 (although our Pastor did host Coach Rex and his team for several years at a church in Clearwater), where we welcomed more than 50 children each day! The boys and girls who came learned the fundamentals of basketball with Coach's team, and then had special group time with Coach himself as he imparted LIFE SKILLS into them as well. After having to cancel last year's camp due to the state-wide virus quarantine, we are excited to bring Coach Rex and his team back in and once again welcome children from the community in for what will be an AMAZING week! This year's theme is "ADVANCE FORWARD" and is based on Philippians 3:14 which says, "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." This year's camp is 9am-Noon, Monday-Friday, June 21st-25th with a special 3-on-3 tournament and awards program that starts at 6pm on Friday. Whole families came out for this special evening last time, with lost of fun and food available for all! Open to all boys and girls, (1st-12th grade).
