Searching For Drummer With a Shared Vision

Description

This is a TALL order, but if the past year has taught us anything, it is that life is too short and unpredictable to sit back and wish you should have or could have [fill-in the blank]. Now that we are fully-vaccinated, we are able to breathe a bit easier and try to make up for a year lost. We are an established band in the process of regrouping for a post-covid comeback, albeit with a fresh attitude and vision for moving forward. We have been together on and off again for several years, played several gigs, but extenuating circumstances require us to find a new drummer. We refuse to settle for just anyone, so if you have been in and out of bands, various projects, been disappointed that you haven't found the right people, read on and see if we have enough in common that you may want to reach out to us. Here is some information about us: * We are advanced-level musicians who enjoy playing 80s rock -- Van Halen, Whitesnake, Ratt, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Poison, Kiss, ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, and the list goes on. * We are friends -- good friends. We are looking for someone who will fit-in with us. We're laid-back, don't take ourselves so seriously that we lose sight of reality. We have families who are 100% supportive of our musical ambition, so family drama does not get in the way of the band. We celebrate each others' successes and our love for playing music. * We are in our late-forties/early fifties; ethnicity, gender, age, identity is not a discriminating factor -- we are interested in finding someone with a shared attitude and musical interest. But if you are not willing to play Van Halen's "Running With The Devil" based on religious conviction, we understand and might not be a good fit for you. * We tend to have band rehearsal once a week -- learning new material tends to occur in-between rehearsals. Unlike some bands that want to play as often as they can, we are content with playing 1-2 gigs per month. Any more than that may infringe upon family or work priorities. However, during different times of the year, there may be more opportunities to make more time. But right now, 1-2 gigs per month is where we're at. * We are professionals with established careers (business owner, engineer, and government service). That means we have no desire to make playing music at bowling alleys, an occasional beer tent gig, or other establishments our livelihoods. That does NOT mean we are not serious, it just means we have different priorities than someone committed to finally, even after 30 years, to make it big in the music business. That said, we put a significant amount of money into our setup. We have a dedicated locked rehearsal space with professional sound equipment, lights, instruments, amps, drums, and we enjoy playing each rehearsal as if it were a gig. We play to have fun and at the end of the night we go home with a value-added experience that fed our souls! * We treat each gig as if it is the greatest show on earth, regardless of the crowd size. Our mission is bring our flavor of 80s hard rock to the stage, have fun playing music, and enjoy feeding off of the positive energy from the crowd. So, if you read all the way down to this last part, then perhaps you are intrigued enough to reach out to see if we are a good fit. If so, feel free contact me if you would like to get together to jam a few tunes and see if the chemistry is right. We'll provide a setlist after initial contact.
