Introduction to the Profession of Athletic Training Becky Mohl Borer, the head athletic trainer at ASU, is looking to co-host a conference/symposium with Shaniece Jackson, assistant athletic trainer with the Philadelphia Eagles, in order to bring awareness of the profession of athletic training to the community in hopes to recruit students to pursue a degree in the profession. As advocates for the athletic training profession, our goal of this conference is to increase awareness of the profession of athletic training. Our hopes in addition to increasing awareness would be to recruit students who may be interested in the career field. If the students are interested, we will have networking opportunities as several speakers currently work in professional athletics including: Jana Austin: Assistant Athletic Trainer of New Orleans PelicansMarco Nunez: Former Head Athletic Trainer for LA LakersMichelle Odai: Chair of Athletic Training Department at Florida International UniversityMonte Wong: Assistant Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist for Philadelphia EaglesAs part of the conference, we will be offering a “swag” bag for the participants with NATA (national Athletic Trainer Association) gear.
