Scottsdale Seeks Public Input On Blueprint For The Future

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The city of Scottsdale is seeking public comments on its 'General Plan 2035' proposal, regarding development in the area. The plan includes items, such as the creation of a Desert Rural Neighborhoods land use designation, in addition to the creation of a new downtown core within Old Town, setting up a more define edge for the area, the city said. Residents can view the draft plan and provide comments on the Scottsdale City Council's version here, with the council holding a pair of work study sessions on the plan with public comments allowed on April 13 and April 20. The city's planning committee will hold a remote hearing on the general plan recommendations on April 28, with the city council meeting to discuss whether or not to adopt the plan and put it on the November ballot on June 8, the city said. There are several polls that residents can weigh in on, on the city's community input series' website, meant to gauge the general public's thoughts on the recommendations that make up the plan. The city of Scottsdale has held a series of work study sessions in February and March to discuss the draft plan, which is where the council decided to have a mock version of the plan written up.
