Maridel and Suzanne, who have years of experience growing gardens from seeds, have teamed up again to host a class for all of you backyard growers who want to know more about growing your central Florida Garden. This time we are teaching skills required to raise vegetable plants from seeds. In this class we will cover the following topics:· When to plant in subtropical Central Florida· Fostering germination· Length of germination time for each crop· Care and transplanting of the seedlings· What crops are best for direct seeding into your garden· How to save and store seeds from your garden· Succession planting: keeping a planting calendar to ensure your family has enough food for the entire growing season In this hands on workshop, each student will· Receive seeds from our gardens that are proven to grow in our climate· Plant and label a 72 cell tray of seeds to take home for your summer garden· Receive a laminated Zone 9 Planting Chart· Learn about an amazing multipurpose plant that is easy to grow· Have an opportunity to have your all of gardening questions answeredCome and join us for a class that we find very important. If you can get good at successfully growing seedlings then you are on your way to the most cost effective way to have an awesome garden. This will give you many more options of vegetable varieties to grow in your garden.
