RENU Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Carpenter for our Copiague, NY location. The Carpenter is needed for commercial construction renovation/fit-out projects. Our Carpenters are capable with both wood & metal framing, hanging doors, installing sheet-rock, as well as windows and typical punch-list finish work. Primary Responsibilities: As directed, builds, repairs and installs such items metal/wood stud framing, drywall/sheet rock, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, building framework, roofs, and trim. May be required to work with a variety of materials in addition to wood including but not limited to sheet metal, plastics or aluminum. Will be required to read and understand drawings. Install framing and sheetrock with metal studs. Install drop ceilings. As required, may draw rough sketches or prepare plans to scale from verbal or written instructions to accomplish a project. From plans, may recommend to supervisor and order the kind, quantity, and quality of materials to be used. Qualifications: Possess own hand tools. OSHA 30 preferred. OSHA 10 required. Must be able to communicate in English. Required to enter hours electronically and access schedule via Smart Phone. Ability to perform the physical tasks required of a Carpenter.
