Big Creek Nursery Is Now Hiring! Big Creek Nursery & Landscape, LLC is a nursery and country store located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. We are excited to add more hard-working and friendly members to our team and are currently seeking qualified applicants for the following seasonal positions: 1- Plant Specialist & Sales a. Major responsibilities include helping customers with plant needs and advice; sales and assisting with loading. Non seasonal applicants must be versatile over the winter months and adapt to other projects such as plant growing operations and cleanup. b. Requirements: Extensive plant knowledge and experience; applicants must be able to work in the heat; must have good customer skills and be willing to learn; must work well with other employees. 2- General Nursery Labor a. Major responsibilities include general plant care (watering, weeding, trimming, etc.); transplanting; keeping areas of nursery clean and orderly (sweeping floors, emptying trash, organizing plants, etc.); greeting customers; answering questions as you can, carrying products for customers, etc.; tagging products, may include running a register during busy days. b. Requirements: Applicants must be prepared for physical activity and being on their feet for extended periods of time and be able to safely lift 40 lbs. Heat tolerance is needed for this job. Applicants must have good customer interaction skills and be willing to learn on the job; must work well with other employees. 3- Clerk and Retail a. Major responsibilities include maintaining both outdoor plant and indoor dry good displays in the nursery and or country store; keeping the country store and office clean and orderly (sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning restroom, emptying trash, etc.); monitoring stock; stocking shelves changes in the country store and communicating when product orders are needed; and customer service (greeting, answering questions, carry out products, etc.). b. Requirements: Applicants must have good customer interaction skills as well as an artful eye for maintaining product displays; able to run a register; maintain good employee relations; previous experience in a similar retail setting is preferred. Positions advertised may be seasonal from March – October. In such case, work from November through February will be considered on an as-needed basis but not guaranteed. Highly qualified applicants will be considered for year-round employment. We are considering part-time as well as full-time applicants. Hourly pay will be negotiated according to experience.
