Looking for Private Campsite

I'm new to the Traverse City area and searching for a place where I can park my car and setup a small campsite for myself for the next eight months. I only need a place to sleep and cook. I will be working while I'm here so I'm offering to pay rent for the space I use. Ideally someone's private property would suffice as long as I can make fires for cooking. I'm very considerate, clean, and tidy. I have a clean background and I don't use drugs. I'm interested in living more rustic so I'm not interested in apartments or houses.
