Class A CDL a Plus Job Summary The position is a labor job for erosion control construction. Must possess a valid driver's license, pass a background check and drug screen. Sign on Bonus available for insureable Class A CDL Drivers. Compensation: Non - Exempt, Hourly, Determined on Experience Job Type: Full-time Primary Responsibilities ~Build various erosion and sediment controls according to engineer plan and manufacturer specifications. ~Respect and report to Construction Manager. ~Make certain that equipment and vehicles are properly protected from damage and that maintenance and cleaning is performed on a regular basis. ~Complete daily inspection vehicle reports. ~Tell Construction Manager when equipment requires repairs or maintenance. ~Be on time to office and sites. ~Attend company provided or company required training. ~Maintain honest and open communication with direct and indirect supervisors. ~Keep a safe working environment. Qualifications and Skills ~High School Diploma or equivalent required. ~Two years construction experience preferred. ~Licensure or certification including Class A CDL or NPDES qualified stormwater person is highly desired may result in higher pay. Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications ~Demonstrates strong and consistent knowledge of construction practices and procedures. Relevant certification and/or licensure (CDL, NPDES Qualified Stormwater Person, CISEC) is highly desired, but not required. ~Demonstrates truthful, direct communication and honesty. ~Organized and detail oriented. ~Ability to deal with customers in a reasonable, just and friendly manner as a representative of the company. ~Insurable driver without issues related to safe driving and extended driving. ~Able to read, write and perform basic calculations and mathematical figures. Physical Demands and Working Conditions ~Able to adapt to a quickly changing and fast-paced environment. ~Must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. ~Able to use a calculator, telephone, mobile electronic equipment and have a foundation understanding to operate construction machinery. ~Able to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. ~Able to lift 50 lbs., dig trenches, use 5lb or heavier hammers. ~Work non-standard hours when required. ~Able to complete overnight travel as required If selected for an interview, please be prepared to do the following: ~Bring a list of 3 supervisors you have worked for that we may contact. ~Demonstrate your ability to read and answer questions from construction plans. ~Complete a set of math questions.
