Description

Sheldon was found as a friendly stray on March 18 and he has the saddest of stories... he was originally adopted from the shelter but his owners didn’t care much for him because he became an outside cat evidently. Or maybe they just moved and left him. Anyway he was FIV negative when he was adopted and came back to the shelter FIV +. Which means he was bitten by another infected cat. ( Mating and biting is how it is passed by cats and only cats can get FIV (DOES NOT TRANSFER TO PEOPLE) They can live a long and healthy life -it just means they have a weak immune system so do not let him outside to eat squirrels! He is a totally healthy and a FIV cat can live with other cats.) Plus he got in some horrible situation under something ?? and his back is badly scarred. It is healed now but his hair will probably never grow back thus making him maybe a bit unattractive (you can see his back in the last photo). However, he is so sweet which is hard to believe after all he has been through. He just needs a home that will love him and keep him inside. He is about 8 years old and is a medium sized handsome brown/cream striped tabby. Very sweet, and gentle... though a little shy at Petsmart… he would love to sit and watch TV with you. He went to live in a cage at Palm Coast Petsmart 24/7 on April 7 and wonders when he will get out of a cage and into a home. Please come rescue this resilient guy! Neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and the adopter gets a free vet visit upon adoption within ten days. ADOPTION FEE is $25 Please visit him at Petsmart, 5270 East Highway 100, Palm Coast, Florida 32164
