Description
I'm a vocalist that recently moved to the area and would like to be working/gigging with a band again. I've a passion for Rockabilly music and feel like it would be well received in the area, so I would like to put together a group to bring rockabilly style covers to venues in the Missouri area. Influences: Imelda May, Kim Lenz, Stray Cats, Chop tops etc.
Would hope members would bring their own style into this as well - as I think we could slide a little phycobilly and hilly billy music in there for some variety.
For a basic group we would need: Upright Bass, as least one guitar and drums. If you are interested - please reach out and let's chat.
Who am I? I'm in my 50's, female, but have a wide vocal range and and cover most artists. I have worked with a few bands while living the the San Francisco Bay area and have gigged a few times. So, I understand what it takes to get a band on stage. I also have a strong understanding of social media and how to use that to promote and get us places to play (though help there would not be rejected). I also have a full time job and am not looking for my music to make me famous or pay the bills.
What I would expect from you. A commitment to the group - hoping to get in a rhythm of once a week rehearsals. stage ready equipment (or a commitment to be setup by the first gig). Willing to come to rehearsal having done your work so that we can spend that time focusing on our group sound. Reliable transportation.
Overall - the biggest thing is... willingness to abide by Will Wheatons Law (http://www.wheatonslaw.com/) and have some FUN. None of us would spend this much of our time with music if we didn't love it, so let's not turn it into something else.
