We are currently seeking a Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator to perform a variety of equipment operating duties within our landfill in Cold Spring. Job Summary: Responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at our landfill in Cold Spring for the purpose of spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner. Benefits Include: • Year-round work • Monday-Friday/no weekends • Health insurance provided • Retirement plan with employer contribution • Other benefits include: paid time off, paid holidays, and uniforms provided Duties and Essential Job Functions: • Operate heavy equipment including but limited to: landfill compactor, skid-loader, and dozer • Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment • Moves and positions (pushes) debris into active landfill areas • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste • Sorts loads by removing unacceptable waste • Follows all required safety policies and procedures • Maintains a neat and organized landfill area • Performs other duties as assigned Requirements: • High school diploma or GED • Equipment operating experience • Safety first mentality • Great customer service skills • Clean and neat with attention to detail • Willingness to assist or perform a wide-range of tasks • Ability to lift 40lbs • Willingness to work outdoors and/or in a landfill *The company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
