The Dixie Group, Inc. is a yarn manufacturing company in Porterville, CA. We are currently seeking a responsible, dependable and detail-oriented machine mechanic to work in our Heat Set Department. We are willing to train but preference will be given to those with previous mechanic experience in a manufacturing setting. Work schedule would be for 3rd shift, although training will be in 2nf shift. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: • Troubleshoot mechanical break downs • Replaces damaged machine parts using mechanic's hand tools • Checks and repairs winders as needed • Checks and repairs all Superba creels as needed • Checks stainless steel conveyor belts • Brings tunnels up to pressure and temperature as needed • Brings the tunnels down & depressurizes for repairs • Checks and repairs all suffer boxes • Works together with supervisor to see what additional repairs need to be made Physical Demands: •Walking/Standing/Kneeling up to 7 hours per shift •Be able to pick up 50lbs Equipment Used: •Mechanic hand tools Job Environment: • Noisy, fiber dust/fiber particles Safety Equipment Required: •Wear ear plugs, safety glasses and knee pads • Follow Safety lock out-Tag out Procedures when working on machines Company Benefits: Medical, Vision and Dental plans available 401K Free and Voluntary Life Insurance 9 Paid Holidays Vacation Time Off *Lunch Time is Paid!* Great and Safe working environment!!!
