Mach 1, Inc. is looking for a diligent team player in a fast-paced business environment, who is ready and willing to grow with a Municipal Services and Project Development Company within the construction industry. JOB TITLE: Permit Expeditor PURPOSE: Successful candidate will be responsible for the permit expediting role in the development of residential construction projects through the municipal permit process. This work will be both locally and nationally. DUTIES: Plan preparation for permit submittals including reviewing architectural drawings and building, zoning, and electrical applications. Basic architectural/construction knowledge is extremely helpful. Permit packages are to be submitted to municipalities and then coordinated to ensure permits are processed in the most expeditious timeframe. This may necessitate driving to the individual municipalities, so knowledge of Chicagoland is helpful. Coordinate with subcontractors on licensing requirements, and with clients on individual project statuses. LOCATION: Work undertaken throughout Chicagoland as required from the office in Northbrook. A large part of this role will be permitting projects for a Nationwide Sunroom contractor – though those projects are out-of-state, but the work will be done locally from the Northbrook office. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: General architectural, engineering and survey plan knowledge are important for the plan preparation process, and the necessary contact with municipalities and engineering and surveying resources. Prior permitting experience, MSOffice and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC knowledge is required. Reliable vehicle is a NECESSITY for this position due to the driving duties (there is mileage compensation). SALARY: Will be commensurate with experience; contract work could lead to full-time employment. Hourly rate at start of employment: $20-$25 per hour.
