The Esplanade Association invites volunteers to join us for the 22nd Charles River Cleanup on the Esplanade! Join us for the 2021 Charles River Cleanup on the Esplanade, taking place on Saturday, April 24 from 10am to 12pm! We're looking for individuals, families, and small groups to help us in cleaning up our beautiful riverfront park through our annual Charles River Cleanup event. The 2021 Charles River Cleanup on the Esplanade is part of this year’s 22nd Annual Charles River Cleanup, a collaborative cleanup effort along the Charles River organized by the Esplanade Association, Charles River Watershed Association, Charles River Conservancy, Massachusetts, Department of Conservation and Recreation, Emerald Necklace Conservancy, Muddy River Initiative, and Waltham Land Trust. The Charles River Cleanup is annually the biggest volunteer cleanup event for the Esplanade Association, usually bringing between 400 and 600 volunteers. Due to current volunteer restrictions and guidelines set by both the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and the CDC to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the number of volunteer participants in this year’s Charles River Cleanup on the Esplanade will be limited to 150 people, further divided into physically distant groups located at different volunteer project sites on the Charles River Esplanade. Volunteers will be informed of their exact meeting location for the Charles River Cleanup on the Esplanade a few days in advance of the event. We hope you can join us to enjoy a socially distant and rewarding morning of stewardship in the park! Registration is capped at 25 people. Please cancel if no longer able to attend.
