Property Maintenance Assistant We are a 20 acre residence and organic farm just outside of downtown Dixon, seeking a full time worker to assist with landscape maintenance and various farm activities. In addition to work performed at the Dixon property, will be occasional travel to other locations to complete specific maintenance projects. Tasks will be carried out under the direction of the Farm Manager as well as the property owners. Experience is a plus, but training will be provided. Important: Please Read! Requirements Must have valid CA drivers license Must speak fluent english Must pass drug screening and background check Must be comfortable working with hands, squatting/kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs in a safe and efficient manner Must be comfortable operating typical landscaping equipment including mowers, weed eater, leaf blower, and hedge trimmer Must be proficient with hand tools including shovel, rake, hoe, and shears Must be comfortable working in inclement weather including rain and high temperatures Must be able to follow company safety procedures and policies Must be willing to take instruction and complete tasks in a timely manner Must be comfortable working individually and as part of a team Regular Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to) Weekly mowing, blowing, hand weeding, and trimming Monitoring plant health and proper irrigation function Mulch application Irrigation installation and repair Proper storage and maintenance of all equipment Debris removal Keeping walkways and paths clear of weeds and debris Wood chipping Occasional farm related tasks including soil preparation, planting, harvest, and fertilizer application Assistance with light construction projects Preferred (but not required) Experience with and ability to safely use a chainsaw Experience with towing trailers and proper use of hitches Experience with equipment maintenance including small engines and vehicles Tractor operation and maintenance Irrigation installation and repair Basic horticultural knowledge such as pruning techniques and non-chemical weed control Experience with light construction and basic carpentry Excellent written and verbal communication Comfort with technology such as email, work flow application (Trello), and online HR resources
