Maintenance Tech Assistant Location: Mars Hill and Weaverville, NC Benefits: Holidays and 2 weeks paid vacation Employment: Full Time Department: Maintenance Description: We are looking for a self-motivated and hard working professional responsible for assisting in apartment flips, day-to-date maintenance and renovations. Experience is not required, but good to have if possible. We are currently renovating a historic building into apartments while also maintain 5 other communities in the Weaverville/Mars Hill Area. This position is an opportunity to learn electrical, plumbing, HVAC and all facets of residential maintenance. The employee is expected to be on time and give advanced notice if they are absent. Most Important Responsibilities: Drive a one ton dump truck (Manual) Collect garbage and recycling Meet freight trucks Pick up supplies Assist in refurbishing apartments Paint prep and painting of apartment interior and exterior Assist a staff licensed plumber and electrician with repair and installation for current projects/renovations Snow Removal Move heavy objects as requested Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Trade school and/or military training a plus. Must be able to lift and work with heavy equipment. Valid driver's license along with good driving record and auto insurance is required.
