In the homiletics field, a text has been needed that blends hermeneutics, sermon development, and sermon delivery. Engaging Exposition fills that gap with what its experienced authors call a "3-D approach" to preaching. Bill Curtis writes about the Discovery process—how to equip the student to discover the meaning of a biblical text by using sound principles of interpretation, and to move from biblical analysis to biblical interpretation. This seminar will examine the hermeneutical and homiletical ingredients necessary to produce and teach biblical narratives. EVENT SPEAKER: DR. BILL CURTIS Pastor Bill is the Founding and Lead Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Darlington, South Carolina. He is also the Co-Founder of The Pillar Network for Church Planting, former Trustee Board Chairman of the North American Mission Board, and the author of Engaging Exposition, 30 Days to James, Exalting Christ in Micah, and Gypsy Smith: The Forgotten Evangelist. Pastor Bill has a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Lyla have two daughters, Cherie and Cassie.
