Salty Hair Part 2

Description

I am looking for a duo partner that may want to ramp up into a trio or band down the road. I've played locally for about 20 odd years. I love Jimmy Buffett and the whole beach music idea. I'm talking about cool tunes that most everyone knows yet are not necessarily "overdone". I love playing newer country music that is just cool and screams, "I need a beer at the beach now". That said bands like The Cars, The Stray Cats, Hootie and the Blowfish, REM, Barenaked Ladies, and on and on fit the mold. I play guitar, bass, and sing. I'd love to ramp up to a band situation but think establishing a backbone out of the get is important. I'm honestly past the days of lugging subs and amps (i.e. Salty Hair Duo/Band). I love Bose L1 stuff or something similar (quality, volume, and easy to move). Ultimately I want to put together a group of 2-4 people that, (a) all sing and sing well, (b) do not want to play every weekend, and, (c) want to be the best at what we do. My opinion is vocals are what make a band. As far as everyone singing, backing harmonies are fine for the 3- or 4-piece idea but for a duo, we have to split singing some tunes. Not playing every weekend simply means I am not doing this full time is all. Some months 4 or 5 gigs, some months 2, maybe a month of none? I am not looking to be the leader of anything and would hope that you would have a list of tunes that you want to play as well. I have a good bass player already. So I am looking for an acoustic guitar player that has similar tastes. I am 54 just FYI. I drink beer. That’s the story.
